Tuesday Twofer

Bird, Gone (for Maya Angelou)
the bone,
scaffolding,
the flesh,
a cage
uncaged thus,
then Bird soars,
below,
the world atwitter
taken to wing,
in silence, she says,
so she, ascending,

might hear the voice of God

Haiku #25

A goldfinch atop
a young crape myrtle, afloat
in a spring green sea.
